Director of Digital Membership

Marketing Department

The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) is seeking a Director of Digital Membership to oversee the in-house donor cultivation program. They will report to the Chief Digital Officer and work on the Digital team. They must be an experienced copywriter who specializes in long-format donor cultivation letters and understands the kind of messages needed to acquire and cultivate large groups of smaller dollar donors. Must be fluent in modern marketing technology and how to deploy the right message, to the right person at the right time. They will be responsible for creating and executing quarterly All Channel Offers (ACO), using in-house design and communication services. ACO’s will have email, SMS, print, organic social and paid media-buy elements built on our annual value proposition to the market.

They will work closely with our Development department, coordinating digital outreach with Development goals and supporting their process for identifying and expanding donor potential. Responsible for generating regular appeal campaigns nested in between the four annual ACO’s. These can be issue driven when a major event occurs, or cyclical/event-based campaigns for End of Year Giving.


  • Proven experience conducting sourced research with short deadlines working across a variety of issues. Relevant job experience that demonstrates a level of competence in the areas necessary to fulfill the responsibilities and duties of the position. Appropriate technical education and training are welcomed, but experience and demonstrated success will be prioritized. Understands and can execute efficient development and use of digital tools, social media platforms, and excellent writing and editing skills.
  • A self-starter. The individual must be willing and able to conceive and develop innovative ideas independently and often and bring them to fruition. An entrepreneurial mindset that seeks out new opportunities to grow and advance the mission of AFPI and its policy centers.

  • Project Manager. You will manage a variety of projects and coordinate heavily with both internal design and 3rd party design contractors. Must be able to effectively manage and update project and task management software, both for yourself, internal and external team members.
