America First Policy Institute Statement on Congressional Omnibus Proposal

“America should be cutting billions in domestic spending, not doubling down.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, America First Policy Institute (AFPI)’s President and CEO, Brooke Rollins, released the following statement regarding the reckless $1.5 trillion, 2,700-page spending package making its way through Congress.

“Only in Washington, D.C. do people believe greater domestic government spending is needed at a time when inflation is running at a 40-year high, and the federal debt surpasses $30 trillion. The proposed 6.7% non-defense spending increase devotes resources the federal government doesn’t have to fund programs that are more political than necessary. During a time of record-high gasoline prices, sky-high grocery prices, and people’s paychecks holding less buying power, America should be cutting billions in domestic spending, not doubling down on the same failed policies that are greatly contributing to the inflation that is raising the price of everyday products for everyday Americans.”

Putting America First requires leadership that:

  • Holds the bureaucracy accountable for abuses of power
  • Drives true economic prosperity for all Americans, including long-forgotten Americans
  • Makes America energy independent again
  • Cuts red tape
  • Reduces crony capitalism
  • Prevents discrimination based on immutable characteristics
  • Protects freedom of speech from cancel culture and tech censorship
