After Friday’s ruling from the United States Supreme Court on the case of Dobbs v. Jackson, leaders from the America First Policy Institute made the following statements surrounding the landmark decision and the future of life in our nation:

“Today’s historic Supreme Court decision does not mark the end of the near half-century fight for life; it correctly returns this issue to the people’s elected representatives in each of the states. The hopes of future generations now rest within the purview of lawmakers, who will decide whether America will continue spiraling down the Left’s extreme path of taxpayer-funded, on-demand abortion up until the moment of birth or a path of compassion, support, and care for both the lives involved in this difficult issue — the mother and the baby — and fulfilling the Founders’ vision of a country that cherishes everyone’s inalienable right to LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It should also be noted that this historic day for democracy, nearly 50 years in the making, would not have been possible without the leadership and commitment to life of President Donald J. Trump. Thank you, Mr. President!” - President and CEO Brooke Rollins

“For two years, we have been told to follow the science when it comes to a paper mask on a seven-year-old child, yet not when it comes to a sonogram of a 15-week-old fetus showing a clear image of human life, the baby’s gender, heartbeat, and limbs. Today’s ruling at the Supreme Court is a win for the American Child. The Center for the American Child will support efforts within states to ensure women and children are protected not just at birth but throughout the life of the baby.” – Chair of the Center for the American Child at the America First Policy Institute and former Senior Counselor to President Trump, Kellyanne Conway

“Today’s decision is a historic win for the Constitution and the American people. Previous decisions in Roe vs. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey contorted the Constitution, particularly the co-equal powers laid out in our founding document. The majority in Dobbs state that the legality of abortion is an issue to be grappled by the legislature at the state and federal levels. This decision gives the people a voice that will be heard through their votes and elected representatives. The America First Policy Institute stands with the unborn and the basic tenants of federalism — giving the power to the people and not any single branch of government.” - Chair for the Constitutional Litigation Partnership and Co-Chair of the Center for Law and Justice Pam Bondi

“For 49 years, ‘we the people’ have had to endure a flawed and unconstitutional ruling from the Supreme Court that allowed unelected judges to create a national right to abortion, which ultimately led to extreme actions, like late-term abortions, against the unborn. Today, the Supreme Court has rightfully overturned that decision, sending the power to regulate abortion back to the elected officials at the state level. I have longed and prayed for this day. And I will continue to fight for human dignity for everyone — from the womb to the tomb.”- Chair of the Center for the American Dream Alveda King

“Today the Supreme Court delivered a huge victory for life and recognized the tremendous advances in medicine over the past 50 years.

New technology such as the three-dimensional ultrasound and fetal echocardiograms allow doctors and parents to see a baby’s early development in incredible detail. Breakthrough treatments and advancements in neonatal intensive care have led to nearly 80% of the extremely preterm infants, born 22-28 weeks gestational age, to survive and leave the hospital with their parents. While doctors can now save the lives of babies with minimally invasive surgeries to treat conditions as early as 16 weeks gestation, six states plus Washington, D.C., allow abortion all the way up until the time of birth.

The Supreme Court’s decision today will allow Americans to reevaluate the value of the potential of every baby in the womb and choose life through a democratic process. Human life is not disposable, but a precious gift from God with inherent worth and dignity.” - Director for the Center for a Healthy America Dr. Heidi Overton, M.D., Ph.D.

“I join the America First Policy Institute today in celebrating the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The pro-life movement is ultimately motivated by love, not only love for the unborn child but love for the mother and the father, as well. Millions of advocates for the health and lives of women and their unborn babies have prayed for this moment and celebrate this national victory for the sanctity of life after 50 years of judiciary-sanctioned abortion. With this historic decision, all Americans will once again be able to make their voices heard and choose to protect life through their elected representatives.

Faith community leaders have always been front and center in offering counseling, support services, and prayer for vulnerable mothers and children across the country. The overturning of Roe will increase that support and the roles of the 2,700 Pregnancy Resource Centers in America. Pro-life supporters will continue to open their hearts, homes, and finances to help those facing hardships and affirm the value inherent to every life.

Like millions of Americans, I subscribe to the Scriptures, which clearly state that God created each and every one of us in His image, giving each of us dignity as human beings. Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.’ Human life —born and unborn — is precious at every stage and is a gift from God. I am proud to fight for the value and worth of every single life. America First Policy Institute’s Center for American Values will continue to press ahead and gain ground as this moral and spiritual battle unfolds in the weeks and months to come.”- Chair for the Center of American Values Pastor Paula White

“With the Supreme Court’s decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, nearly 50 years of Roe v. Wade’s judicially mandated abortion has finally been overturned.

During my time as governor of the great state of Mississippi, I was honored to sign the bill that will now restore American citizens’ voices in the abortion debate. Now, our moral duty to protect life at all stages will be exercised by voters through their elected representatives at the state level.

This is how our Constitution was designed to operate and how our democracy functions best: when the issues are debated in the public square and decided on by the voters, rather than imposed by a court in Washington, D.C.

But the pro-life movement also understands that our fight is just beginning. In the coming days, our efforts to assert the full dignity of every human life will become more important as radical Democrats attempt to legalize taxpayer-funded abortion up until the moment of birth. We must protect the rights of the unborn and surround them with the love and rich teachings of our faith. May we also continue to offer care and support to the most vulnerable among us in the days ahead. Let us all pray for wisdom, courage, and justice in the fight for life.” – Senior Advisor for AFPI Governor Phil Bryant
