STATEMENT: AFPI Center for Law & Justice on President Biden’s Safer America Plan
August 31, 2022
The America First Policy Institute’s Center for Law and Justice Co-Chairs Pam Bondi, former Florida Attorney General and Matthew Whitaker, former Acting United States Attorney General released the following statement on President Biden’s Safer America Plan:
“President Biden’s speech is pure political expediency to propose spending new money on a problem that he and his allies created in the first place. Suggesting that his administration is now committed to supporting our Nation’s men and women in blue is a stark departure from his coddling of the ‘defund the police’ movement of recent years.
“President Biden talks a big game, but he has been noticeably silent as rogue Left-wing prosecutors continue to undermine the rule of law in cities across the Nation, releasing criminals into our communities and promoting dangerous decriminalization policies that have caused crime to skyrocket. If he wants the American people to take his tough-on-crime rhetoric seriously, he should immediately denounce the anti-police policies his allies have been promoting for the past several years.”
