STATEMENT: Dr. Alveda King Praises Congressman Chip Roy’s Action to Protect Honest Teaching in Schools

Washington, D.C. – Teachers’ unions and liberal elites have used their power and influence to force a radical agenda on countless students in the U.S. Students are now being taught that America and our Nation’s founding are inherently bad, and many teachers are peddling a narrative that to be patriotic is to be racist. Today, Dr. Alveda King, Chair of the America First Policy Institute’s Center for the American Dream, issued the following statement regarding a bill by Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) that would address this issue: 

“Schools should be home to  an honest teaching of the American story and a place where every child can learn and grow. Instead, they have become a hotbed for indoctrination. Congressman Roy’s Combating Racist Teaching Act would take a critical step toward ensuring our schools are no longer promoting race-based ideologies by prohibiting federal funding from those that do so.”
