Statement: House Judiciary Committee Unveils Legislative Package to End Biden Administration’s Border Crisis
April 17, 2023
Washington, D.C.— Following the announcement by the House Judiciary Committee’s majority that it will mark up the Border Security and Enforcement Act this week, Chad Wolf, America First Policy Institute’s Executive Director and former Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, issued the following statement:
“For 26 months, the Biden Administration has orchestrated an unprecedented humanitarian and security crisis at the southern border. The previous Congress failed the American people by allowing these pro-cartel, pro-human trafficking policies to function on autopilot. Fortunately, the current House Judiciary Committee majority rejects the status quo and has introduced a thoughtful bill to help secure the border and address the human trafficking catastrophe that has unfolded over the last two years. This legislation is a practical solution that contrasts with the ineffective and unserious proposals and actions championed by the Biden Administration. The time for excuses is over. Let’s get to work to secure the border, end human trafficking, and defeat the cartels.”
