Statement: Ken Blackwell on Involvement of Center for Voter Information in Wisconsin Elections

Washington, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute released the following statement regarding the involvement of the Center for Voter Information (CVI) in Wisconsin elections:

CVI claims to be a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, but unfortunately, it has drifted away from that mission,” said Ken Blackwell, Chair of the Center for Election Integrity at the America First Policy Institute and former Ohio Secretary of State. “CVI has come under intense scrutiny for mass mailing an undisclosed number of pre-filled absentee ballot applications designed to look like official government documents, and in doing so, caused widespread chaos due to incorrect names and addresses. This is a horrible way to conduct an election. CVI’s overt partisan actions have resulted in possibly millions of unmonitored, misdelivered, incorrect absentee ballot applications being sent out across Wisconsin. This practice confuses voters and creates ample opportunities for fraud. State and local election offices should be the only ones administering elections.”
