Statement on the Biden Administration’s Student Loan Forgiveness Scheme

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The America First Policy Institute’s Higher Education Reform Initiative issued the following statement regarding the Biden Administration’s announcement of a $300 billion, inflation accelerating, student loan bailout that punishes blue collar workers and hardworking taxpayers.

“This is a huge slap in the face to hard-working Americans who paid off their college loans, didn’t take on loans, or didn’t go to college in the first place,” said Dr. Jonathan Pidluzny, Ph.D., Director of the Higher Education Reform Initiative. “As someone who has spent a career in higher education, I can say with absolute confidence this is the wrong answer. It will not improve higher education. It will only incentivize more tuition increases, glitzy buildings, luxury services, and sprawling diversity-administration complexes.”
