STATEMENT: Rick Perry on the Passage of H.R. 1

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Rick Perry, former Secretary of Energy and Chair of the Center for Energy & Environment at the America First Policy Institute, regarding the House’s passage of H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act:

“Since its very first day in office, the Biden Administration has enacted a war on American energy.

Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R.1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, which would reverse the Biden Administration’s disastrous policy agenda stifling U.S. energy production, fueling inflation, increasing foreign dependence, and harming American families.

Nothing has done more to decrease poverty across the world than access to low-cost energy and free-market capitalism. Increasing the supply of energy will lower inflation, lower food costs, and put our Nation back on the path to prosperity. The Senate should immediately take up H.R. 1, which would lower energy costs for American families, power economic growth, and set the foundation for our future.”
