Paralegal/Case Manager

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Paralegal/Case Manager will assist the Center for Litigation (CFL) at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) in legal projects, research, and administrative support.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Commitment to AFPI’s mission and servant-leader culture.
  • Assist in preparing reports, briefings, and other legal documents for both internal and external audiences.
  • Assist attorneys in legal research and case filings.
  • Assist in the amplification of cases by preparing talking points, press releases, and tweets for public dissemination.
  • Develop communications strategy with stakeholders and external partners, including the preparation of press releases and the handling of press inquiries.
  • Assisting in the coordination of meetings, between CFL staff and other AFPI staff, clients, and external entities.
  • Manage legal and administrative responsibilities within CFL, including managing the legal docket, filing calendar, and scheduled meetings.
  • Assist the CFL staff in preparing, organizing, and maintaining documents pertaining to each case, both paper and electronic.
  • Other tasks as assigned by CFL staff or AFPI senior leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a paralegal, case manager, legal office manager or similar role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal administration such as PACER, court dockets, electronic case filing, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience.
  • Exceptional organization, research, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proactive attitude and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Very comfortable working in a fast-paced environment in which many supported staff may be remote.
  • Ability to work beyond typical work hours, as necessary.
  • The ability to maintain productive and collegial relationships with staff and external stakeholders.
  • A strong interest in constitutional law and the judicial system.
  • Demonstrated support of free market principles that support American citizens and American liberties.
  • Philosophical commitment to America First Policy Institute’s mission and goals.
  • Law firm experience preferred but not required.
