Evaluating The Biden-Harris Policies: Foreign Affairs

Under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, foreign policy failures have led to wars and rising instability around the world. These wars have killed U.S. servicemembers, such as in the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, and have endangered U.S. national security interests both domestically and abroad.

FOREIGN POLICY FAILURES OF THE BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION

• Within months of Biden and Harris’s first year in office, they greenlighted the first of many foreign policy failures – the disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan. 

• 13 brave U.S. servicemembers died during the botched withdrawal.

• Billions of dollars of U.S. weapons and equipment were left behind which fell into the hands of the Taliban and other terrorist organizations.

• Shortly after Biden and Harris’s weakness on the world stage became apparent, a Russian invasion of Ukraine became imminent. Biden irresponsibly insinuated “a minor incursion” by Russia on Ukraine would lead to minor consequences. 
  • The war has since raged on for the last 2.5 years, with no clear end-state solution by the Biden-Harris Administration.
  • Instead, they continue to greenlight billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayer funds to continue arming Ukraine for “as long as it takes,” which is now up to $175 billion.

• On October 7, 2023, Hamas led the deadliest terrorist attack against Jews since the Holocaust. Yet, Biden-Harris policies continue to be vague on where their support stands with Israel.
  

• All of these instances continue to give China confidence to pursue their aggressive anti-American agenda with continued threats of invading Taiwan and deliberately sending spy balloons over U.S. territory.  

De-BUNKED

MYTH: A return to America First policies would lead to World War III.
FACT:  The America First foreign policies that were in place before the Biden-Harris Administration helped keep the U.S. out of any new wars abroad in the past two decades.
Additionally, during the Trump Administration, Putin did not invade a neighboring country since his rise to power in 2000.

MYTH: The world is safer under Biden and Harris.
FACT: Under the Biden-Harris policies, major wars have broken out in Europe and the Middle East, and there continues to be rising tensions in the Pacific under an emboldened China.

MYTH: Biden and Harris strengthened NATO under their presidency.
FACT: Had Russia not invaded Ukraine, many NATO member countries likely would have continued to be delinquent in reaching the agreed funding of 2% GDP to defense spending.
