Playing Politics with Government Funding Erodes Momentum for America First Agenda
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jenn Pellegrino, AFPI’s Senior Director of Media Affairs and Chief Spokesperson, issued the following statement as the March 14 government funding deadline nears.
“The only way for our economy to recover from the destructive fiscal policies of the Biden-Harris era and deliver on America First priorities is for Congress to consider and pass a clean CR before the March 14 deadline. Failing to fund the government will halt work on reconciliation, sabotage critical work the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is doing to root out government waste, fraud, and abuse, and will hamstring the President’s efforts to overturn the woke and radical policies hurting Americans. While not ideal, quick consideration of a clean CR will keep our country on the path to delivering the American First Agenda and meaningful change. Playing politics when real cost savings are occurring is the opposite of what taxpayers demanded in November.”
