Reconciliation Legislation Moves America First Priorities Forward
Washington, D.C. – In response to Republican leaders in Congress announcing plans to clear reconciliation legislation this week—legislation that includes President Trump’s America First policies—Greg Sindelar, interim President and CEO of the America First Policy Institute, made the following statement:
“This reconciliation legislation represents a clear return to an America First Agenda while also undoing the damage caused by the Biden-Harris Administration. President Trump and America First members of Congress have been working tirelessly to put America’s recovery back on track, and this legislation does that. This legislation includes commonsense policy solutions and would extend tax cuts to save Americans thousands and reject tax hikes that far-Left extremists want to pay for a bloated, wasteful government. Congress needs to move as quickly as possible to secure our border, fight illegal immigration, expand economic prosperity, and empower families.”
This week, congressional committees announced plans to clear reconciliation legislation quickly at the committee level. This action moves the America First Agenda forward, delivers the lasting change Americans voted overwhelmingly for last year, and encompasses many of the policies researched by the America First Policy Institute. An analysis of this research and many of the policies included in the reconciliation legislation can be found here.
