Ken Blackwell and Hogan Gidley on Ohio Senate Bill 63, a Prohibition on Ranked Choice Voting
Washington, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following joint statement from Ken Blackwell, Chair of the Center for Election Integrity, and Hogan Gidley, Vice Chair of the Center for Election Integrity at AFPI, regarding Ohio Senate Bill 63, which would prohibit Ranked Choice Voting (RCV).
“The Center for Election Integrity unequivocally supports the prohibition of RCV and applauds the Buckeye State for considering this important piece of legislation. RCV is proven to be unnecessarily complex, and it disenfranchises voters. Its history of confusing or inaccurate outcomes makes it a greatly flawed system that should be soundly rejected across the board.
We are thankful for the work the legislature, the Secretary of State, and the Governor have done towards protecting voters and securing Ohio’s elections. Senate Bill 63 is an opportunity to further ensure that Ohio’s elections are fair, transparent, and accountable.”
