Matthew T. Rooney

Matt Rooney was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1984 and is a lifelong resident of the Garden State, committed to combating corruption and mismanagement.
The son of an engineer and a teacher who worked through night school for a better life, Matt attended St. John's Grade School in Collingswood and Paul VI High School in Haddonfield. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts from the Catholic University of America and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. He earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law-Camden and was admitted to the bar in New Jersey (2011) and Washington, D.C. (2012). He clerked for Judge Nan S. Famular in the New Jersey Superior Court (2010–2011).

Matt practices law at Blaney, Donohue & Weinberg P.C. in Avalon, NJ, representing both private and public clients and serving as a municipal prosecutor for several South Jersey towns. He is the President of the Camden County Bar Association and has been recognized as a "top attorney" by SJ Magazine.

In 2008, Matt founded SaveJersey.com, a widely recognized political news and commentary blog, cited by major outlets like the Philadelphia Inquirer, Politico, Fox News, and Newsmax. In 2021, he launched "The Matt Rooney Show" on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, airing Sundays from 7–10 PM EST.

Matt has co-sponsored election debates, served as a keynote speaker, and appeared on programs like Jesse Watters Primetime. He frequently ranks on the New Jersey Globe Power List of the state's most influential political figures and was named a “Rising Star” in New Jersey politics by Gannett in 2013. He also won the 2012 Benjamin Franklin Award for Courageous Journalism from the Independence Hall Tea Party Association.

Matt lives in South Jersey with his wife, son, and daughter.
