An America First Approach to U.S. National Security
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) announced the release of its new book, An America First Approach to U.S. National Security. This book features peer-reviewed chapters from AFPI experts, Members of Congress, and former Trump Administration national security officials regarding the biggest security issues facing our country and the world.
“America First foreign policy is not isolationism. America First does not mean America alone,” said Lt. General (Ret.) Keith Kellogg, former Chief of Staff and Executive Secretary of the National Security Council and Chair of the America First Policy Institute’s Center for American Security. “This book discusses in detail not just the mishandling of foreign policy by the Biden Administration but what the next America First Administration should do to rebuild America’s strength and global deterrence on the global stage and the restoration of peace and stability to the world.”
Edited by Fred Fleitz, former Trump Administration National Security Council Chief of Staff, the book contains chapters regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Hamas attack on Israel, the threat posed by China, and more. Some of the key authors include Lt. Gen. Kellogg; Robert Wilkie, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Undersecretary of Defense; Rick Perry, former Secretary of Energy and Governor of Texas; Congressman Mike Waltz (FL-06), the first Green Beret elected to Congress; Steve Yates, former National Security Advisor on China to Vice President Dick Cheney; Morgan Ortagus, former State Department Spokeswoman; and Chad Wolf, former Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
