Scott Toland

Scott Toland is from Iola, Kansas, and serves as Senior Advisor for the America First Transition Project and Deputy General Counsel at AFPI. He recently served as Assistant Staff Secretary and Special Assistant to the President in the West Wing of the White House under President Donald Trump. In this role, Scott briefed President Trump before speeches and document signings and worked closely with senior officials and federal agencies to prepare documents for the President’s review. He also worked as a Law Clerk for Judge Don R. Willett, first on the Supreme Court of Texas and then on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Scott earned degrees in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Kansas, where he was a Division 1 student-athlete and Editor-in-Chief of "The Wave," a Kansas Jayhawks sports magazine. He then earned a Master of Public Affairs and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin. Scott enjoys running and playing golf, tennis, and basketball.
