For decades, D.C. insiders and Wall Street elites perpetuated the lie that American engagement with Communist China would cause that nation to open, to liberalize, and to reform. Even as evidence accumulated to the contrary, some benefitting from this deception continued to profit off of China at the expense of America’s stature and America’s workers. AFPI Urges FCC to Strengthen Telecom Security, Block Chinese Influence
Today, the America First Policy Institute’s (AFPI) Piero Tozzi, AFPI’s Senior Director of China Policy, submitted a public comment to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) urging the adoption of rules that would strengthen U.S. telecommunication security by phasing out recognition of telecom equipment test labs, Telecommunications Certification Bodies, and accreditation bodies located in, or operating out of, countries that lack a mutual recognition or comparable reciprocal trade agreement with the United States. Such entities operating outside the reach of enforceable U.S. jurisdiction mean that certifications cannot be reliably tested or corrected, weakening our telecommunications security.

Promoting the Integrity and Security of Telecommunications Certification Bodies, Measurement Facilities, and the Equipment Authorization Program (Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking)
I write in support of the proposals set out at paragraphs 68 through 75 of the Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, FCC 26-28, and respectfully urge the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to adopt rules that would ultimately cease recognition, in phased stages, of test labs, Telecommunications Certification Bodies (TCBs), and laboratory accreditation bodies that are located in, or conduct their work in, countries that lack a mutual recognition agreement or comparable reciprocal trade agreement with the United States.

Comment in Support of Proposed Rule, “Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act of 1978”
The America First Policy Institute submits these comments through its China Policy Initiative, which researches foreign adversary ownership of American agricultural land and agricultural infrastructure and has published on the matters addressed in this rulemaking. We write in support of the Department of Agriculture’s (hereafter "Department” or “USDA”) proposed revisions to the regulations implementing the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act of 1978 (AFIDA), and we urge the Department to finalize the rule with its adversary-specific provisions intact. The proposed rule rests on a correct and long-overdue conclusion: The national security risk presented by foreign holdings of American agricultural land is a function of the identity, location, and control structure of the holder rather than a function of acreage, and ultimately of whether said holder answers to an adversary government.
