On Wednesday, September 20, the America First Policy Institute hosted a speaker series event, where our America First Transition Project Team discussed laying the framework for the next conservative, America First administration to govern effectively on day one.
Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) - "We have one huge advantage... our ideas are far more correct than the Left."Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan and was the Director of Appointments for the 2016 Presidential Transition, delivered the keynote address and discussed several transition lessons learned, including the need to start early. Doug Hoelscher - "One rogue bureaucrat is one too many... and there's more than one."As conservatives, the federal bureaucracy is stacked against us—making it twice as hard to govern effectively. That is why it is vital to plan now so we can navigate the swamp and see an America First Agenda implemented successfully. Doug Hoelscher, former Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the White House, serves as the Chair of the America First Transition Project and helps lead the entire team and set priorities for our transition efforts. During the panel discussion, Doug shared perspective on the scope of our work and how it is important to rein in the administrative state. Listen to Doug's remarks on the three-pronged approach of the America First Transition Project HERE. |

Sec. David Bernhardt - "This is a very critical component: having team members who know what they are doing and are committed to the plan."Serving on multiple presidential transition projects before ultimately serving as the Secretary of the Department of the Interior, David Bernhardt knows a thing or two about implementing the right personnel for effective governing in our Nation's capital. Watch Sec. David Bernhardt break down what a successful presidential transition project entails HERE. |

Chad Wolf - "It's not enough to have a plan, you have to implement the plan... If you don't know what you're doing, the administrative state will run circles around you."Speaking of navigating the administrative state, Chad Wolf, former Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, knows all too well the tricks rogue bureaucrats use to divert the administration's agenda. With our America First Agenda, we have the plan to save this country. With the personnel and planning of the America First Transition Project, we will be able to implement it... from day one. Listen to Chad Wolf recall his personal experience with the administrative state and how this project will cut through the swamp in Washington, D.C. to deliver the America First Agenda HERE. |
