Border security is National Security: Recognizing Key Vulnerabilities

October 24, 2023

The Biden Administration’s border crisis has made the u.s. critically vulnerable to a terror attack on the homeland. Here’s why:

  1. At least 1.7 million known ‘gotaways’ have come across the border undetected in the past 32 months, and we have no idea who they are or what threat they pose to our Nation.
  2. There have been more than 70,000 apprehensions of “Special Interest Aliens” at the border. These individuals pose potential national security risks based on their points of origin or travel patterns.
  3. At least 282 Known or Suspected Terrorists have been apprehended at the southern border while crossing into the U.S. illegally from FY21-23 an all-time record.
  4. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has actively warned that terrorists inspired by the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt to enter the U.S. through the southern border.
  5. Because Border Patrol is processing surges of migrants, they cannot properly conduct security vetting, especially counter-terrorism border interviews for illegal aliens on our watchlists.
  6. The Mexican drug cartels, who work with Islamic terrorists to further their illicit criminal activities, are raking in billions of dollars from human trafficking and smuggling.
  7. CBP has released over 95% of all inadmissible aliens who used the CBP One App to enter our country, including individuals from Iran and additional countries which harbor the Taliban, ISIS, and other terrorist group.
  8.  The Biden Administration allowed nearly 100,000 unvetted, visa-less Afghans into the U.S. after the withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.
