In a recent Newsmax segment, Hilton Beckham, Communications Director at the America First Policy Institute, discussed the significant shift in modern parenting styles. She highlighted that contemporary parenting leans towards progressive, emotion-driven methods, often prioritizing feelings over facts and encouraging children to "follow their truth." This approach contrasts sharply with traditional conservative values emphasizing respect, discipline, and decency.

Beckham reflected on her upbringing under a strict Southern Christian mother, who enforced discipline and respect, fostering a sense of kindness and decency. This traditional approach, she argued, is lacking in today's youth, leading to a generation unprepared for adulthood. She criticized higher education institutions for promoting activism over balanced education, with professors becoming parental figures who instill a mindset of perpetual victimhood rather than resilience and responsibility.

This change in parenting and education, Beckham contended, results in students emerging from college ill-prepared for real-world challenges, burdened by ideologies promoting hatred for American values and a victim mentality. The conversation underscored the need to revisit and reintegrate traditional parenting values to better prepare future generations for adulthood and societal contribution.
