Riley Gaines and Jack Brewer Statement on Upcoming MN House Vote to Protect Girls’ Sports
ST. PAUL, MN – Riley Gaines, vice chair of the America First Athletes Coalition at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) and host of OutKick's Gaines for Girls podcast, and Jack Brewer, former NFL Minnesota Vikings team captain, vice chair of AFPI's Center for 1776, and chair of the Center for Opportunity Now, issued the following statement ahead of the Minnesota House vote on HF 12.
“All members of the Minnesota House should support HF 12 to protect girls' sports,” said Gaines. “This isn’t just a vote—it’s about fairness. No female athlete should lose a title or miss out on a scholarship because a male athlete takes her place.”
“I earned many opportunities to improve my circumstances and get a college degree through my hard work in sports," said Brewer. “Allowing boys to compete against girls takes away those same opportunities. As a father of daughters who spent a significant part of my life in Minnesota and still has family there including my nieces, I am committed to bringing common sense back to sports in the state.”
