AFPI Praises Senator Ted Cruz for Introducing Legislation to Protect Children’s Online Safety

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Dr. Laurie Todd-Smith, Director of AFPI’s Center for the American Child and Center for Education Opportunity, after Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced the Eyes on the Board Act, which would prevent children from accessing TikTok and other social media platforms through Wi-Fi in public schools.

“TikTok and other Big Tech companies and unsupervised online access can harm our small children and young people. Closing loopholes that expose our small children to explicit or harmful material online, predators, and other dangers should always be a priority. Senator Cruz is on the right path as this bill works to keep our children safe.”
