Amelia Joy

Amelia Joy is from St. Petersburg, Florida and serves as Strategic Communications Director for State Affairs. She previously worked as Press Secretary for South Dakota Governor, Kristi Noem. In this role, she served as the governor’s lead speechwriter, managed media inquiries and bookings, briefed the governor before national media hits and interviews, and drafted the governor’s press releases and op-eds, which were regularly featured by multiple national outlets. After interning for multiple members of Congress and working on Congressman Joe Wilson’s reelection campaign as Deputy Political Director in South Carolina, Amelia served as Regional Analytics Coordinator at the Republican National Committee, where she oversaw targeted voter contact initiatives throughout the 2022 midterms.
Amelia holds a Master of Arts Degree in Political Communication from American University, where she earned a Distinction for her research on nonverbal communication during presidential debates. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama, where she double majored in Political Science and Communication Studies. She was also a Crimsonette in the Million Dollar Band and served as Philanthropy Assistant for her sorority, Delta Zeta.
In her spare time, Amelia enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her Corgi, Reagan.
