Laura Hendrickson lives in Georgetown, Texas, and serves as a Senior Editor at AFPI. She most recently was senior editor and director for a research department that analyzes proposed legislation for the Texas House of Representatives. Laura previously taught Journalism and Communication, including writing and editing, at universities in Texas, Minnesota, and Washington, D.C. She earned a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.A. in Journalism from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. Laura was born in South Dakota, grew up mostly in New Mexico, and takes every available chance to return to the vast landscapes of both states. She enjoys doing genealogical research, especially in Iowa, and maintains a narrative family history blog.
