Matthew Jensen
Director, Office for Fiscal and Regulatory Analysis
Matthew Jensen is from Bloomington, Indiana and serves as the Director, Office for Fiscal and Regulatory Analysis and in the Center for American Prosperity at AFPI. For over a decade, he has contributed to building budgetary and economic modeling facilities that are used extensively by US policymakers and those in numerous states and countries around the world. He was the Founding Director of the American Enterprise Institute’s Open Source Policy Center and co-creator of projects and organizations including the Policy Simulation Library and Open Research Group. His work in these roles contributed to the design of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and major pandemic fiscal responses in the US and elsewhere, among other policy achievements. Beyond scorekeeping, he has experience in government information security and Internal Revenue Service oversight in addition to private sector experience in technology product development. Jensen and his wife live in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey with their two boys.
