Internship for Spring 2025 - Georgia State Chapter
About:
Chaired by Former Congressman Doug Collins, America First Policy Institute Georgia Chapter, brings key partners together to advance policies that put Georgians First and give them a foothold from which they can thrive and grow. Georgia is rich with freedom-oriented thought leaders, including academic institutions, think tanks, civic groups, and religious organizations. AFPI-GA seeks to engage each of these groups through education on policies and their involvement in the political process across the Peach State.
Our internship offers applicants a solid foundation in political experience. Interns with AFPI-GA engage in research and information-gathering projects to deepen their understanding of Georgia politics and local government. Our interns also have the chance to work alongside our Executive Director and Chairman, assisting in the execution of various events and programs.
Responsibilities include:
Communications: assist with all aspects of communication and press. In this role the intern will cultivate media relationships, assist in interview and media preparation, research special projects, and advance AFPI’s research and policy work.
Digital Marketing: help develop and implement content and strategies for social media platforms. Responsibilities include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions, assisting in planning digital campaigns, and managing content creation.
Engagement: help connect AFPI’s policies to the citizens in the Peach State. Interns will assist in planning and executing policy events and stakeholder calls, drafting emails, working with coalitions, and conducting research.
Events: will help plan, coordinate, and execute AFPI-GA events including speakers' series, policy summits, trainings, and major events. Responsibilities include communicating with stakeholders, planning event details and logistics, and event day set up and management.
Government Affairs: will support the Executive Director by coordinating external engagements with leaders in the Georgia General Assembly. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining various email lists, drafting correspondence, and preparing and compiling materials for meetings with elected officials and staff.
Policy: will help advance AFPI’s mission by conducting research, assisting in drafting content, and coordinating tasks amongst AFPI's policy centers. Policy initiatives include Election Integrity, Weaponization of Government, Economy & Energy Abundance, Empower Families, and Security at Home and Abroad.

Time Requirement/Expectation:
Interns should expect to dedicate between 10-15 hours per week working directly with the Executive Director. It should be noted that travel may be required.
Compensation:
Interns will receive a monthly stipend and be reimbursed for mileage. College credit and letters of recommendation are also available upon request.
