AFPI Condemns Communist Cuban Regime’s Internet Shutdown, Calls for International Support in the Fight for Democracy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Kevin Cabrera, America First Policy Institute (AFPI) Senior Advisor for National Hispanic Affairs, released the following statement on the situation in Cuba:

“The America First Policy Institute and Hispanic Leadership Coalition strongly condemn the Communist Cuban regime for cutting off internet access to silence protesters seeking freedom. This oppressive move highlights the government’s disregard for basic communication rights and its ongoing suppression of liberties. We stand with the brave Cuban people as they demand an end to tyranny and the restoration of their fundamental rights. It’s crucial for the international community to denounce these violations and for the Biden Administration to use diplomatic and economic pressure to support the Cuban people’s quest for democracy.”
