General Kellogg joined America Reports on Fox to discuss the Israeli strikes in Lebanon, Part two.
Retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg recently appeared on Fox News' "America Reports" to provide insights on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The discussion focused on the recent statements by Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, who called for a proportionate response by Hezbollah to stop the violence.
General Kellogg highlighted the complexities of Lebanese politics, noting the influence of Hezbollah in the region. He emphasized that Hezbollah should have disarmed and withdrawn from southern Lebanon 20 years ago, following a UN Security Council resolution. However, their continued presence has escalated tensions.
Kellogg expressed concern about the potential for an escalatory cycle, where any response by Hezbollah, especially targeting major cities like Tel Aviv, would force Israel to retaliate heavily. He stressed the importance of clear and unwavering U.S. support for Israel, signaling to both Hezbollah and its supporters that aggressive actions would be met with firm responses.
He also pointed out that the logistics for Israeli forces, strained by prolonged engagements, remain a critical concern. Kellogg concluded that unless Hezbollah changes its stance, the conflict could become more dangerous, with significant implications for regional stability.
