Implement Fair Trade to protect American Security

In a utopian world, our nation would operate in free markets, with secure borders, and no fear of foreign regimes robbing, replicating, and replacing American-made goods. Alas, this is not a perfect world, especially in California, where weak politicians have left people, markets, and communities vulnerable. For too long, our leaders have accepted the status quo, embracing imbalanced trade policies and open borders threaten our safety and economic prosperity.
Trump’s tariffs are a key step in ensuring fairness in trade and putting the American people first in their own markets.
Trump’s “Liberation Day” trade announcements mark a strong opening for negotiations, and it should be noted that the United States’ new discounted tariff rates remain far lower than what many countries charge us. Our eroding manufacturing base threatens national security as billions in trade deficits pile up. Trump is right—addressing these unfair practices will revive manufacturing, protect national security, and restore good wages for the American worker
