Statement: Steve Yates Applauds AFIDA Improvements Act of 2024 to Protect U.S. Agricultural Land from the CCP
WASHINGTON, D.C. – the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Steve Yates, Chair of the China Policy Initiative at AFPI, applauding the introduction of the AFIDA Improvements Act of 2024:
“Foreign entities have acquired tens of millions of acres of U.S. agricultural land. This poses a clear threat to our national security, especially when adversarial nations such as the People’s Republic of China (PRC) gain control of land near military bases and critical infrastructure sites.
I applaud Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) for introducing this bill and taking an important step toward properly safeguarding our agricultural land from the PRC and other adversarial states.”
