AFPI Statement on May’s Consumer Price Index Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from James Carter, Director of the Center for American Prosperity: 

“American workers are seeing their paychecks slashed by the highest inflation in more than 40 years. Gas has surged to $5 per gallon and more, chicken and bacon prices have skyrocketed to 40-year highs, parents can’t find baby formula, and grocery shelves remain empty for crucial products. Americans' paychecks are simply not going as far as they used to. President Biden needs to quickly reverse course on his socialist spending agenda, his war on American energy, and the regulatory assault on American businesses. It’s time for the Biden Administration to get out of the way and to deliver much-needed regulatory and fiscal relief to American workers, families, and businesses.”
