AFPI Launches Messaging and Data Lab

Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) announced the launch of a new Messaging and Data Lab to frame and define America First policies and accomplishments powered by the latest data and polling to help conservatives win the argument against Far-Left ideology—at last.

“It’s frustrating that radical liberals win arguments when every policy they embrace, promote, and implement is unpopular with the American people and a complete failure,” said Hogan Gidley, former Principal Deputy White House Press Secretary and Senior Strategic Communications Advisor at AFPI. “Liberals support unsuccessful policy, but they often have more successful messaging. The AFPI Messaging and Data Lab will work to level the language playing field by pairing the America First policies that produce great results for all Americans with the sharper, stronger, data-driven messaging needed to define the argument and win.”

 The Messaging and Data Lab will utilize publicly available polling, as well as exclusive polling data from Scott Rasmussen, plus additional top polling and data experts, and public sentiment gleaned from social media analysis and focus group audiences. Sam Mims, who served as Data Director for Trump-Pence 2020 as well as the Ron DeSantis 2018 gubernatorial campaign and now serves as the Director of Data at AFPI, will join Gidley in helping to lead the data effort.

“The data is clear. Americans are clearly not better off now than they were two years ago,” said Mims. “The AFPI Messaging and Data Lab will fuse polling, social media, sentiment analysis, audience behavior, and internal/external datasets to develop messages that resonate with Americans outside of Acela Corridor.”

The Messaging and Data Lab will also be supported by Marc Lotter, former Director of Strategic Communications of the Trump-Pence 2020 campaign, Press Secretary to the Vice President, and Chief Communications Officer at AFPI; and AFPI’s communications and policy teams.

The AFPI Messaging and Data Lab’s first report will be released in June, focusing on securing our border, protecting the vulnerable by ending human trafficking, and defeating the cartels that push deadly fentanyl and other drugs into American neighborhoods.
