STATEMENT: AFPI Applauds the Passage of Arkansas Education Reform
Washington, D.C. — Today, America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement after Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed the LEARNS Act, an education bill that will increase teacher pay, reform early education, and expand school choice for all students.
“Every American student deserves the opportunity to receive a quality education. Governor Sanders’ plan will empower parents to pick the best school for their children and reward the best teachers for their work in the classroom,” said Brooke Rollins, President and CEO of the America First Policy Institute (AFPI). “Gov. Sanders and I championed this issue at the national level in the last White House, and now she’s continuing these America first policies at the state level. Arkansas is enabling a future generation of American leaders to create their best opportunities through a great education.”
“Arkansas children deserve the best opportunities that set them up for future success, and these opportunities start in schools. This bill invests in Arkansas students and trusts parents with important educational decisions,” said Scott Turner, Chair of AFPI’s Center for Education Opportunity. “These student-centered education reforms will leave a lasting legacy for Arkansas students and families.”
