STATEMENT: Carla Sands on the Biden Administration’s Disastrous “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) Rule
March 03, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Carla Sands, Vice Chair of the Center for Energy & Environment at AFPI on the Biden Administration’s proposed rule that would redefine “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) under the Clean Water Act to include the overwhelming majority of America’s waters:
“The American economy is being crushed under the current Administration’s onslaught of more than $300 billion in new regulatory costs.
This proposed rule is a power grab that would put the overwhelming majority of the Nation’s waters under federal regulation. This rule is the latest attempt by this administration to over-litigate and control every aspect of American life by stripping power away from local governments, landowners, farmers, and small businesses and giving it to unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.
I applaud Chairman Graves and the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee for acting quickly, and I look forward to other members joining them and voting to oppose this disastrous rule on the House floor.”
