Ken Timmerman

Senior Fellow, Center for American Security

I have spent my life tracking the murderers of yesterday. Mr. Timmerman is tracking the murderers of tomorrow.

- Simon Wiesenthal, 1992

Ken has covered both sides of the Arab-Israeli conflict for decades, interviewing radical imams and would-be suicide bombers in Gaza, while reporting on the plight of Israeli citizens during the 2006 and 2023 wars. As a young reporter in 1982, he was taken hostage by Palestinian guerilla fighters in West Beirut where he was born again to his Christian faith. He recounts his experiences as a war correspondent and many years of investigating the deep state in his 12th book of non-fiction, And the Rest is History: Tales of Hostages, Arms Dealers, Dirty Tricks, and Spies (Post Hill Press, 2022). He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by former Swedish deputy premier Per Ahlmark in 2006 and was lead outside investigator for a consortium of law firms representing the families of 9/11 victims in their successful lawsuit against the Iranian regime. In 2012, he was the Republican nominee for Congress in Maryland’s 8th District. During the 2016 election campaign, he served on the National Security and Foreign Policy Advisory Board of Trump for President. He was a guest lecturer on Iran from 2010-2016 at the Pentagon’s Joint Counter-Intelligence Training Academy (JCITA) in Quantico. He and his wife, Christina, have five children and six grandchildren and live in Florida. His website is kentimmerman.com.
