Matthew Lobel
Policy Analyst, Higher Education Reform Initiative

Matthew Lobel serves as a Policy Analyst for the Center for the American Worker and the Higher Education Reform Initiative. Matthew writes issue briefs, op-eds, and model legislation on a variety of subjects including the student loan portfolio, workforce productivity, occupational licensing, and antisemitism. Prior to AFPI, Matthew worked in the consulting practice of Baker Tilly LLP, where he helped their defense contractor clients maximize reimbursements, while maintaining competitiveness. In addition, he worked on Capitol Hill, at the Heritage Foundation, and at the polling analytics firm WPA Intelligence. Matthew received a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business and a minor in Economics from The George Washington University. In his free time, Matthew enjoys exploring DC’s restaurant scene, skiing, and playing tennis.
