Center for Election Integrity Applauds Wisconsin Legislature on Introduction of Resolution Banning Ranked Choice Voting
Washington, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following joint statement from Ken Blackwell, Chair of the Center for Election Integrity, and Hogan Gidley, Vice Chair of the Center for Election Integrity, regarding the introduction of a new constitutional amendment for the State of Wisconsin that would ban Ranked Choice Voting.
“Ranked Choice Voting is a confusing, chaotic system of running elections in which the person who gets the most votes is often NOT declared the winner. In fact, studies show that in places where Ranked Choice Voting has been implemented, it’s proven to disenfranchise voters, increase negative advertising, and breed distrust in the outcome. Voters deserve a clear and straightforward voting process, and this constitutional amendment puts power in the hands of Wisconsinites to protect their elections by rejecting Ranked Choice Voting.”
