Hogan Gidley on The North Carolina Legislature’s Passage of Senate Bill 747
Washington, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Hogan Gidley, Vice Chair of the Center for Election Integrity at AFPI, regarding the North Carolina legislature’s passage of Senate Bill 747. This bill includes several critical election integrity measures, including banning Zuckerbucks and establishing firm deadlines for when all ballots must be received.
“The Center for Election Integrity congratulates the state legislature and is honored to have joined this fight by providing members with data, research, and information about policies that help make it easy to vote but hard to cheat. This legislation would do just that by enacting measures such as having all ballots in by Election Day and banning private money in elections administration. North Carolina just took a huge step towards protecting every legal vote and every legal voter, and we look forward to even more robust legislative proposals in the near future to address election integrity in the Tar Heel State.”
