AFPI Statement on WHO’s World Health Assembly Annual Convening
May 23, 2022
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Policy Institute issued the following statement from Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Keith Kellogg, Co-Chair, Center for American Security and Former Governor Bobby Jindal, Chair, Center for a Healthy America, regarding the World Health Organization (WHO) convening in Geneva.
“As the World Health Assembly (WHA), the decision-making body of the World Health Organization (WHO), convenes for its annual meeting, the Biden Administration must hold the organization accountable for setting back our response to COVID-19 and doing the bidding of the Communist Party of China. In July 2020, President Trump withdrew the United States from the WHO for this very reason, and President Biden rejoined as one of his first steps in office. Putting America First means putting the health of Americans first. That means that America’s public health and any related emergency declarations or measures are determined only by the United States and no other nation or international body.”
