STATEMENT: PASSAGE OF BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALIST BILL
August 12, 2022
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congress passed the grossly misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act.”
The passage of this Big Government Socialism Bill comes after the House rejected the opportunity to amend the bill to prohibit the IRS from hiring 87,000 new agents that would target and harass low and middle-income Americans. The record shows that every single Democrat Member of Congress voted to keep the bill as is, 87,000 IRS agents and all.
The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Brooke Rollins, President and CEO of AFPI, in response to the House’s actions:
“Yet again, the Left in Congress and the Biden Administration have proven how truly out-of-touch they are with the American people. Through a guise of false promises, they have unleashed policies that will lead to even higher inflation on a crumbling economy, an environmental strategy fueled by Green New Deal poison pills, and even more federal workers in a bloated, weaponized bureaucracy. And to add insult to injury, these disastrous policies will all be funded by the hard-earned dollars of American workers. Although this puts the American economy on a dangerous path for generations to come, the America First Policy Institute will not stop our fight to bring back policies that put the American people first instead of policies that destroy the American dream piece by piece.”
