January’s Illegal Alien Apprehensions 178% Higher than the Average of the Last Nine Years.

Demographic Breakdown:
- Apprehensions of Unaccompanied Alien Children smuggled to the border were up 144% compared to the average January between FY17–FY20.
- More than 67,000 of the illegal aliens apprehended were from countries other than Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador—seven times the number in FY21 and FY20
- This excludes 30,000 illegal aliens who were unlawfully paroled into the U.S.
